The School of Marxism and the College of Liberal Arts: 68 Humanities Open Courses Are Now Live and Popular

Wed, Apr 22 2026 03:01 PM (Read:

To promote the implementation of the “School of Marxism + College of Liberal Arts” collaborative education model and deepen the integration of humanistic literacy and ideological and political education, 68 humanities open courses have been launched at our university.

These courses are jointly offered by ideological and political teachers, cultural mentors, and academic advisors, covering general humanities, local culture, practical skills, and more. They integrate Marxist theory, excellent traditional Chinese culture, and professional knowledge, providing support for ideological guidance, academic guidance, and cultural immersion. “In-depth Lectures on Chinese History and Philosophy” cultivates cultural confidence and subjectivity; “Stories of Guizhou Culture” and “Wandering in the Confucian Temple: Touching the Cultural Temperature of Guizhou” explore local culture and lead the study of Guizhou studies; more than ten courses such as “Clay is So Fun - Pottery Handicraft Class” and “Design and Making of Brocade Trinkets” are highly popular among students and are snapped up as soon as they are launched.

Students have expressed: “The humanities open courses are different from the traditional classroom’s ‘passive acceptance’. Here, we are the protagonists of the class, and the teachers are more like guides, leading us to explore new ideological worlds.” “The humanities open courses not only allow me to accumulate humanistic knowledge but also shape my values and empathy. Through the study of this course, I have learned to analyze and think from a humanistic perspective and understand that in an impetuous era, it is important to maintain inner clarity and gentleness.”

Teachers also stated: Through the humanities open courses, we have built a free, open, and inclusive platform for students, allowing them to learn to think, empathize, and grow in the nourishment of humanities.

In the next step, the university will optimize the course system, update the content, expand the categories, create high-quality courses, deepen collaborative education, and make the humanities open courses a “treasure trove of classes” for enhancing comprehensive literacy and inheriting cultural genes, cultivating high-quality talents with both moral integrity and professional skills.
