The 2026 China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week’s Second Z-Generation Guizhou University Esports League was officially launched at the auditorium of our university on June 6. Themed “Digital Intelligence in Guizhou, Esports Building Dreams”, the tournament brings together nearly 800 young players from 132 teams across 49 universities throughout the province. Representatives from the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week Organizing Committee Secretariat, as well as leaders and faculty members from participating institutions, attended the launch ceremony.

Hosted by Guizhou Open University (Guizhou Vocational Technology Institute), the league has already completed preliminary campus-level selections, narrowing down thousands of teams to the top contenders. During the launch event, officials from the organizing committee extended their congratulations and highlighted the competition’s role in cultivating high-quality, multidisciplinary youth talent and supporting the high-quality development of Guizhou’s digital industries.

This event serves as a benchmark for integrating esports with education and industry across the province. With a comprehensive incentive system and multi-tiered honors and benefits supported by various enterprises, the league will run through July, featuring provincial-level showdowns, AIGC project evaluations, and cultural exchange programs between Chinese and international youth. Moving forward, our university will continue strengthening the esports education-industry collaboration ecosystem, expanding its esports talent pool, and leveraging the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week platform to create a model integrating “digital sports, higher education, and openness.” This initiative aims to inject youthful energy into the province’s cultural, tourism, and sports sectors, driving high-quality development of talent and industries.
