From October 18th to 20th, 2024, the “Search for New Farmers” and “I Endorse Qian Goods Going Out of the Mountains” 2024 National College Online Live Streaming Skills Competition final was held in Xingyi. The event was organized by the People’s Government of Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Network Social Organization Federation, Douyin Official Platform, Guizhou Province University Rural Revitalization Research Center, and Guizhou Minzu University. Two teams from the School of Art and Design, majoring in Broadcasting and Hosting, advanced to the final round to compete with universities from all over the country.

The leadership of the School of Art and Design attached great importance to the competition, providing guidance and arrangements for the competing teams before the event, who then trained and prepared fully on campus. On the day of the competition, a team composed of Qi Xinjie, Wang Huan, and Wang Suyan achieved first place and were awarded the title of “Health and Wellness Destination, Humanistic Xingyi” Online Culture Communication Promoter; another team composed of Hu Yunxia, Peng Xiaoyun, and Li Shirong secured third place; and three teachers, Chen Lu, Du Hehe, and Mao Ke, received the “Outstanding Instructor Award”.

The event was covered by several mainstream domestic media outlets. People’s Daily Online, Xinhua News Agency, and CCTV International Online all published special reports on the competition, while local media such as Dongjing Guizhou and Duocai Guizhou continued to follow the event with consecutive reports.
