As the new year begins, everything takes on a fresh look, and it is the perfect time to forge ahead. On the morning of February 25, 2025, the 2025 Spring Semester Work Deployment Meeting was held in the auditorium of the Yuntan South Road campus. All school leaders present attended the meeting, along with the main leaders of open universities from various cities and prefectures, as well as the entire faculty and staff. The meeting was presided over by Deputy CPC Committee Secretary Luo Linglong.

At the meeting, the respective school leaders in charge made arrangements and set goals for the departments under their supervision, as well as for the open universities and secondary colleges they are connected with.
Tang Jian, Deputy CPC COMMITTEE Secretary and President of the school, summarized and reported on the completion of the school's work in 2024 and provided an overall deployment for the 2025 work. He pointed out that in 2025, the entire school must follow the "123456" work approach, closely focusing on ten key tasks: "meticulously planning the five-year plan, deeply exploring and expanding open education, striving to excel in vocational education, broadening the scope of continuing education, persistently advancing teaching reforms, concentrating resources to build research teams, balancing recruitment and training to strengthen talent echelons, promoting industry-education integration through collaborative development, deepening reforms to improve mechanisms, and unwaveringly maintaining safety standards." He called for united efforts and vigorous action to achieve these goals.

In her concluding speech, CPC Committee Secretary Linghu Caitao fully affirmed the work and achievements of the past year. She analyzed the challenges and opportunities from three perspectives: "clarifying the foundation, taking responsibility to lead changes in action," "observing the broader trends, enhancing awareness to lead future changes," and "implementing practical measures, innovating methods to lead changes in quality and efficiency." With the overarching theme of "working solidly," she set clear requirements for advancing party building to the forefront, made specific arrangements for improving the quality and quantity of open education, enhancing the quality and excellence of vocational education, and expanding the scope of continuing education. She encouraged everyone to emancipate their minds, deepen reforms, seek truth and practicality, work diligently, and uphold a people-oriented approach while cherishing the school as their home. Linghu Caitao emphasized that standing at a new starting point, the entire school must carefully study and grasp the current situation, persist in working solidly and leading the way, strive to seize opportunities in crises and open new paths in changing circumstances, and shoulder the historical responsibility of building a new university that satisfies the people. She called for greater contributions to strengthening Guizhou's distinctive education and building the school into a high-quality new undergraduate university with unique characteristics in Guizhou and influence nationwide.

Before and after the meeting, various colleges, departments, and open universities from different cities and prefectures reported on their plans for the 2025 work.
