On April 30, the official list of winners for the 6th Guizhou Provincial Higher Education Teaching Innovation Competition—hosted by the Guizhou Provincial Higher Education Association—was announced. Our university’s participating teachers earned one second prize and two third prizes, thanks to their innovative teaching concepts and solid practical achievements.

Themed “Promoting Teaching Innovation and Cultivating Top-Tier Talent,” this year’s competition featured multiple tracks including New Engineering, New Liberal Arts, New Medicine, Basic Courses, Ideological and Political Education in Curriculum, Industry-Education Integration, Artificial Intelligence, and Experimental Teaching. A total of 414 teachers (teams) from 34 undergraduate institutions across the province participated in the online evaluation round, with 163 advancing to the on-site finals. After preliminary rounds at the school level, a university-wide final selection, and intensive preparation, our university sent four teaching teams to compete. Through rigorous competition across multiple stages, they secured one second prize and two third prizes.

Our university has long adhered to the teaching philosophy of “using competitions to promote teaching, reform, and innovation.” Since the competition began, the university has placed strong emphasis on preparation, establishing a comprehensive support system covering every stage. Internal and external teaching experts provided one-on-one guidance to participants, meticulously refining each step—from updating teaching philosophies and optimizing course design to recording classroom videos and rehearsing on-site presentations. This process significantly enhanced teachers’ digital literacy and their ability to integrate technology into teaching-related competitions. Taking this achievement as an opportunity, the university will further advance its fundamental mission of cultivating virtue and talent, deepen teaching reforms, and continuously improve the quality of talent development.
