On the afternoon of December 3, 2024, the third plenary election meeting of the university’s European and American Alumni Association (Association of Returned Overseas Students) was held in the conference room on the eighth floor of the administration building at Yuntan South Road campus. Luo Linglong, the deputy secretary of the university’s Party committee, attended the meeting, along with Yao Nan, deputy head of the propaganda department and deputy head of the united front work department of the Party committee. All members of the European and American Alumni Association and staff from the united front work department of the Party committee participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, Chen Lina, executive president of the European and American Alumni Association, delivered a work report on behalf of the second council. The meeting elected the council members of the third council, as well as the president, vice-president, and secretary-general. Li Jiena was elected as the president, Zhou Yuren as the vice-president, and Luo Yaoyao as the secretary-general. Li Jiena made a statement at the meeting, expressing her commitment to uniting overseas students and contributing to the development of the university.

Luo Linglong fully affirmed the achievements of the university’s European and American Alumni Association and congratulated the newly elected members of the third council leadership. He emphasized the need to strengthen political and ideological guidance, unite overseas students, and build a home for overseas students in the new era; to strengthen organizational construction and attract outstanding representatives; to base on their duties, leverage their strengths, and improve the quality of teaching and the level of university management.
