On the morning of May 6, the opening ceremony for the cultural exchange program "'Discover Guizhou Through Bridges' — 2025 Malaysia-China Cultural Exchange Program in Guizhou" was held in the conference room on the 9th floor of the administrative building at Yuntannan Road campus of Guizhou Open University. The event was organized by the Guizhou Education Association for International Exchange and the Guiyang Municipal Education Bureau, and hosted by Guizhou Open University (Guizhou Vocational Technology Institute). Attendees included Vice President Wang Wenxue of the university, Chen Xiaofei, Secretary-General of the Guizhou Education Association for International Exchange, as well as 33 teachers and students from 19 Malaysian universities and representatives from the host institution.

During their visit, the Malaysian delegation explored the ancient architectural techniques of China at the traditional craftsmanship training base in School of Architectural Engineering, where they observed Luban locks and Dong-style drum towers up close. At the live-streaming training base in School of Business and Trade, they participated in e-commerce livestreams promoting agricultural products. Additionally, at the training base in School of Aeronautics, they experienced an A320 cabin dynamic simulator, gaining insights into the daily training of Flight Attendant Service majors.

At the opening ceremony, Vice President Wang Wenxue extended a warm welcome to the Malaysian delegation and expressed hope that the international students would serve as cultural ambassadors, showcasing Guizhou's charm to the world. Mr. Huang Zhenlong, the Malaysian representative, thanked the organizers and hosts for their thoughtful arrangements and looked forward to a deeper understanding of Guizhou through this exchange. The two sides then exchanged gifts symbolizing friendship, followed by performances by Chinese and international students, celebrating the enduring friendship between Malaysia and China. Finally, Secretary-General Chen Xiaofei officially declared the program open amid a lively atmosphere.
