From May 21 to 24, 2025, the Southwest Academic Journals Innovation and Development Seminar, organized by the Guizhou Provincial College Journals Association, was held in Anshun City, Guizhou Province. During the conference, the results of the first "Qiankan Xingbian" (Guizhou Outstanding Journals and Editors) awards were announced. The Journal of Guizhou Open University was honored with the title of "Outstanding Social Science Journal," marking the first time our university's journal has received this prestigious recognition. Additionally, journal editor Xie Ming was awarded "Outstanding Editorial Publication," and editor Bai Caiyan received the "Outstanding Editor" title.

For many years, the university has placed great emphasis on the development of its academic journal. Adhering to the publishing philosophy of "promoting academic rigor, maintaining theoretical depth, emphasizing practical value, and pursuing authoritative influence," the journal has focused on philosophical and social science research while highlighting modern distance and open education studies. It has also covered vocational-technical education, community education, and other research areas, publishing numerous innovative and forward-looking academic papers that contribute to disciplinary advancement and local socioeconomic development.

This recognition as an "Outstanding Social Science Journal" not only reflects the academic and publishing communities' high regard for the quality of Journal of Guizhou Open University but also motivates the editorial team to strive for further improvement in academic standards and editorial excellence. The journal will seize this opportunity to develop more specialized columns, expand its influence, and provide stronger support for the university's teaching, research, and academic development.
