On September 19th, the summary and commendation meeting for the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition and the launch meeting for the 2026 Vocational Skills Competition were held in the auditorium. Over 800 people attended the meeting, including all the university leaders, representatives of the award-winning teachers and students, representatives of the guiding teachers, all full-time and part-time teachers, deputy section-level and above cadres, and representatives of the freshmen. The meeting was presided over by Luo Yong, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the university.

Our university achieved 3 national gold medals, 4 silver medals and 1 bronze medal in the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition, setting a historical best record. At the meeting, Lin Changsong, the Party Committee Member and Vice President, read out the list of commendations for the university’s 2025 skills competition. The university leaders presented awards to the representatives of the award-winning teachers and students who won the gold, silver and bronze medals in the World Vocational College Skills Competition finals and the first prize in the province, and presented flags to the participating teams of each school (department) to facilitate the smooth progress of the competition preparations.

Linghu Caitao, Secretary of the Party Committee, put forward three hopes at the meeting: First, to promote teaching through competitions, making the competition a “barometer of teaching reform”, and promoting “learning skills, practicing skills, and strengthening skills” to become the ideological consensus and voluntary action of all teachers and students; second, to strengthen teachers through competitions, making the competition an “incubator for skilled teachers”, and building a “dual-capable” teacher team that can teach on the podium and compete on the field; third, to promote integration through competitions, making the competition a “bridge connecting industry and education”, and building a new pattern of “two-way sharing and win-win cooperation”.
At the end of the meeting, the launch ceremony of the 2026 Vocational Skills Competition was held, officially kicking off the related work.
