On the afternoon of February 4th, our university held a special meeting on the promotion of the provincial “Double First-Class Plan” application and the argumentation of professional cluster formation at the second meeting room on the sixth floor of the administrative building in Yuntan South Road Campus. The meeting was held in a combination of online and offline formats. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President Luo Yong, Vice President Wang Wenxue, Party Committee Member and Vice President Lin Changsong, Zhou Yong, and Liao Junhua attended the meeting. External experts and the heads of each secondary school and relevant functional departments also participated. The meeting was presided over by Luo Yong.

The meeting conveyed the relevant requirements for the application of the provincial “Double First-Class Plan”. The Academic Affairs Office explained the application policies, the university’s basic conditions, and the application time nodes, emphasizing that the application should be centered around the core task of forming high-level professional clusters. External experts provided targeted guidance on the construction of professional clusters, offering important references for the direction of cluster formation.

Internal units of the university conducted in-depth discussions on the formation of professional clusters, exchanging ideas on the formation of clusters in related fields such as low-altitude economy, digital economy, intelligent construction, and the integration of culture, tourism, and sports, forming multiple directions for cluster exploration.

Luo Yong made arrangements for the application work, emphasizing the need to coordinate and promote the three core tasks of the provincial “Double First-Class Plan” application, the evaluation of university-running capabilities, and the application for vocational undergraduate programs. A special working leadership group and task force should be established to coordinate resources and work together to ensure the orderly progress of all work.
